A favourite among Ontario
resorts
Whether you are looking for a family summer vacation,
a special weekend holiday, or romantic weekend getaways in ontario,
this popular lakeside cottage resort in Muskoka may be your next
destination. Blue Water Acres is situated on the shores of Lake
of Bays in the heart of Muskoka, an area renowned for its pristine
lakes, natural beauty, clean air, and abundance of wildlife. To
those living in Ontario, the area is affectionately referred to
as "Cottage Country".
A spring break at Blue Water Acres is very special.
Winter snow melts during late March and early April. The ice on
the lake disappears by late April. Spring wildflowers start to bloom
by early May. The moose come out to sample the water by the side
of the highway. April and May is the best time to see moose in Algonquin
Park. By the third weekend in May, the leaves are back on the trees
and most of our summer activities are available for you to enjoy.
Summer weather generally starts to appear during May. Best time
to view wildflowers and wildlife is early Spring before the leaves
hide much of the wilderness interior. It's the only time of the
year that you will experience the tapping and boiling of maple syrup.
June, July and August are generally the warmest
months in Ontario. During this period, you'll enjoy lots of sunshine
and be able to swim and splash around in the lake. Days start getting
a little cooler during September as the fall season gradually approaches.
People from all over the globe visit this area for
a fall getaway.
September days are still summer-like, but the nights are getting
cooler. By the end of October it is possible to experience the season's
first snowfall. Some time during mid to late fall you'll experience
our legendary "Indian Summer" when suddenly it seems that
it is July again.
The North Muskoka/Algonquin Park area witnesses
some of the most spectacular fall colours in the world. Some trees
start to turn colour as early as late August. By late September/early
October they will reach their peak colours. By the end of October,
all the leaves are generally gone, signalling that winter is only
a short time away.
A winter getaway in this area will bring you to
a spectacular winter wonderland. This area is renowned in winter
for its large annual snowfall, spectacular beauty, clean air, and
abundance of wildlife. This is the time of year for skating, dogsledding,
sleigh rides, tubing, skiing, and much more.
